The big top is up at a local church that has offered a temporary home to Hugo-based Carson & Barnes Circus.

The circus will perform two shows  -- 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.  -- today and Friday at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 14700 N May.

The Rev. Joseph  Alsay, the church's rector, has said the decision to host the circus on the church grounds is another way to reach out to the community-at-large. The church is on May Avenue between Memorial Road and NW 150.

The Carson & Barnes Circus features animals, acrobats, clowns and daredevils, according to the its website. The elephants are the biggest stars of the show, according to the Carson & Barnes website.

For ticket prices or more information, go to the church's website at "Big Top." A coupon for discount admission to the circus is offered on the  website.
