A Closer Look at the Savings and Loan Bar in Uptown
On Sunday, I reported on the craftsmanship going into the restoration of the Tower Theater and surrounding retail storefronts in Uptown. The story included an update on the Savings and Loan Bar, which will open in the easternmost storefront where Beneficial Loans once operated for many years.
The bar will be operated by Levelland Productions, which will also be reopening the theater as a live music venue. Scott Marsh, chief operating officer for Levelland, said the bar is set to open in November. The 3,100-square-foot, two-story Savings and Loan will boast a window view of the neon Tower Theater sign as patrons arrive at the top of the stairway. The bar also will reflect the building's history as Beneficial Loans.
Unfortunately, we were not able to include these renderings showing what the bar will look like once it opens. But as you can see, this is going to be a pretty nice addition to Uptown:
