Tsubaki has Kobe beef so you should probably go get some

A quick note to let you know Tsubaki Sushi & Hibachi, 5900 W Memorial Road, is currently carrying Kobe beef. I stopped by earlier this week for lunch and was treated by chef Henry Yang, who sent out a succulent selection of Kobe slices delicately topped with green onion. The beef is tender and lush — totally worth the trip to the corner of N MacArthur and W Memorial Road.

The restaurant doesn’t always carry Kobe, so hustle by to give it a try.

For classic sushi rolls (not the kind rolled in rice and slathered in orange mayonnaise), Tsubaki has been my favorite place for going on two years. Tsubaki does offer outstanding specialty rolls, and a visit without eating the ultra-simple but highly addictive avocado and peanut roll is pure folly.

Ask about foie gras, which chef Henry sears, slices and serves with sliced green apple. They don’t always have foie gras, but when they do I order it. And you probably should, too.

Stay tuned, we’ll take a more in-depth look at Tsubaki in the fall.
