Faith Notes: Weekend June 6-7

The faith community has several activities planned for Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7.

Here’s are few events planned for the weekend:

Saturday, June 6

The Del City Gospel Singing will be at 7 p.m. at Del City First Church of the Nazarene, 4701 SE 26. Guest singers for the free event will be Master's Touch, an American Indian trio from Oklahoma City, and The Williamsons. A love offering will be received. Master's Touch also will perform at 10:45 a.m. Sunday during the church's worship service. For more information, call 677-2330.

Sunday, June 7

— A Taize service and labyrinth walk will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, 127 NW 7. The Taize service will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a dinner catered by Mediterranean Deli. An introduction to the labyrinth and a labyrinth walk will be at 6:30 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $5. RSVP by emailing speers2Ecox.net.

— The newly formed Jewish/Muslim Film Institute will host a screening of the drama "The Other Son" at 2 p.m. at Mercy School, 14001 N Harvey. The film tells the story of two young men who receive a shocking revelation about each other's lives. Refreshments will be offered after the film, along with an opportunity to discuss the film. — “Everest: Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power,” a vacation Bible school, will be from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. at Waterloo Road Baptist Church in Edmond. VBS continues through Thursday at the church, 3100 E Waterloo Road. For more information, call 341-9024 or go to http://waterlooroad.org.

— “Journey Off the Map” vacation Bible school will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Glorieta Baptist Church, 7308 S Western. Bible school activities will continue through Wednesday at the church. For more information, go to http://www.glorietabc.com.
