Student gets creative to avoid fee
I wrote a little bit about my experience with Ryanair last week in this space. To review: I booked a one-way flight from Edinburgh to Dublin in October. What was a $41 ($82 for two people) ticket per person turned into $173 once all of the airline’s charges were factored in.
But this kid found a way to beat the system. Rather than pay a 220 pound fee he simply changed his name for free, and got a new passport. Total cost: About 100 pounds.
Good for him. There is no justifiable reason whatsoever to charged 110 pounds each way to simply change a name on a ticket. None. Zero. This is why people develop such adversarial views on airlines.
