Air travel will be extra busy this summer
Summer is upon us which means it’s time to pack the kids and head to Orlando for a week to see Mickey and the gang and to swelter under the crippling summer humidity in Florida along with millions of others with the exact same plans.
And a packed to the gills plane will likely get you there according to a report from US News and World Report about this summer’s forecast for air travel. Domestic carriers are expected to fly more than 222 million passengers this summer, breaking the previous mark set in 2007 by about 6 million.
Flights have been cut in recent years because of the recession and increased fuel costs. But with fuel prices down, and the economy more or less recovered, it looks like the skies will be crowded this summer, and so will the planes.
