Faith Notes: National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 7

Thursday, May 7, is National Day of Prayer and there are related activities planned throughout the metro area and the state.

Here are a few of the event in the metro:

Edmond

Day Spring Fellowship will offer Prayer for the Nation, 24 hours of prayer ending with a prayer service from 7 to 8 p.m. at 2217 S Fretz. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/dayspring.edmond.

 

Guthrie

A prayer gathering will be from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 pm. on the grass east of the post office (First and Oklahoma Avenue). For more information, email Dan@fathers-heart.org.

 

Kingfisher

A Men’s Breakfast will be from 6:45 to 8 a.m. at The Gathering at First Baptist Church of Kingfisher, 1340 S 13th Street.

A Women’s Luncheon is planned for 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Gathering at First Baptist-Kingfisher. A Youth Rally will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 414 Hill Dr. For more information about the Kingfisher events, call Mary E. Bowerman, 375-6625.

 

Midwest City

A National Day of Prayer Ceremony will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Midwest City Community Center, 200 N Midwest City Blvd. For more information, call 473-2239.

 

Mustang

Mustang Baptist Church’s National Day of Prayer Observance will be a time of prayer offered from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in a come-and-go format. For more information, go to www.fbcmustang.org.

 

Norman

A National Day of Prayer Service is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Faith For Life Church, 1019 24th Ave. SW.

 

Oklahoma City

A National Day of Prayer Service will be from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City, 131 NW 4. This event has been held for several years at the state Capitol building, but has been moved to First United Methodist-Oklahoma City due to construction at the Capitol building. Tecumseh

A National Day of Prayer Service, hosted by First Baptist Church of Tecumseh, will be from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. at the Tecumseh Veterans Memorial, 114 N Broadway.
