Shawnee Frontline Church partners with DHS for the Finding Forever Families 5K Run

SHAWNEE -- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Pottawatomie county office is partnering with Shawnee Frontline Church to host a Finding Forever Families 5K Run on May 9.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shawnee YMCA, 700 W Saratoga. Registration beings at 8:30 a.m.

The run was developed to raise awareness about the need for adoptive homes for children who are legally eligible to be adopted and have no identified placement. The 5K is considered a "fun run" meaning that participants can run or walk without a time limit. People of all ages are encouraged to participate.

Registration is $25. Online registration will be available until Friday, May 1.
