First Look at Bricktown's Steelyard Hotels
ADG, which won accolades for its design of the Bricktown Inn Express, is once again working with Texas-based NewcrestImage on two hotels that will be built at the northeast corner of Joe Carter Avenue and Sheridan Avenue. Officials with NewcrestImage declined to provide another update on the project, but their plans suggest that instead of building a garage, they may be parking guests off site. My bet is they’ll do a deal with Don Karchmer, who has the Main Street parking across the street to the west.
We’ll find out soon if the corner building of the project, shown in the site plan below, is where NewcrestImage intends to open an upscale restaurant.
In previous interviews, Mike Patel, CEO of NewcrestImage Hotels, indicated the two 150-room hotels will be valued at $45 million. wn hotel design shop, Patel said he hires local firms like ADG. One of the new hotels in the Steelyard will be an AC by Marriott, the chain's new upscale, contemporary offering aimed at young professionals.
"It will have an iconic sign, and it will have an iconic restaurant," Patel said. "It will have 10,000 square feet for restaurants and retail. Our goal is a Wolfgang Puck, PF Changs or a steakhouse."
