Boy Scout Dinner in Oklahoma City featured lots of flowers and Boy Scout knots

There were 50 different bouquets of flowers on the 50 tables for The Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America dinner at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum recently. Bebe MacKellar was in charge of decorations and Genea Vallion and Kevin Hale, Trochtas's, created the Boy Scout theme in flowers and Boy Scout camping decorations.

There was a beautiful bouquet of flowers tied around the base with Boy Scout knots and ropes; there was a hillscape bouquet with hiking rocks and flowers; there was a campfire and lantern bouquet with flowers, and outdoor logs and flowers and others. The flowers were ranunculus, daffodils, tulips, woodland stems, forsythia, Gerber daisies, with moss, logs and natural bark.

After the parade of the Boy Scouts, all carrying flags, the National Anthem, and Pledge of Allegiance and a gourmet dinner, Lee Allan Smith presented the E. C. Joullian Distinguished Citizen Award to Christy Everest, Louise Bennett and Mary McClean.


Dinner event chairman was Shirley Everest and on her committee were Janell Flanery, Susan Hoffman, Linda James, Bebe MacKellar, Laura Ratliff, Karen Samis, Mary Kay Samis, Wendy Smith House and Casey Williams. Lee Allan Smith was chairman of the steering committee. David Thompson was master of ceremonies. David Carpenter is Last Frontier Council President.
