Running the race: "McFarland USA"

I have a special place in my heart for runners because one of my sons ran cross country and track in high school and is now a member of a collegiate track team.

For that reason, I’m looking forward to the new Disney film “McFarland USA” which tells the story of a group of cross country athletes in a migrant farm town in California.

In an article in The Christian Chronicle, chief correspondent Bobby Ross Jr. shares how faith inspired the youths’ coach Jim White, a life-long member of the Church of Christ.

“McFarland USA” is set for nationwide premiere Feb. 20.

The Christian Chronicle, an international newspaper for Churches of Christ, is headquartered on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University.
