Exhibit C - A Big Addition for Bricktown Tourism
Today was one of those days where the whole time space continuum question that dogged Captains Kirk and Pickard simply could not be overcome by a mere mortal like myself. Consider all that transpired today – a plan to add a huge amusement ride to Bricktown, designs released for a new hotel, final salvaging of furnishings and equipment from Stage Center, a hint by Rand Elliott as to his next move with the block at 4th and Harrison … and this is just the list of what I was able to crank out today with my editor Don Mecoy and the folks at NewsOK.
This meant that I could not attend the grand opening of Exhibit C, a gift shop, Bedré Fine Chocolates shop and art gallery being opened by the Chickasaw Nation. This is the very sort of attraction that out of town visitors to Bricktown and downtown have been asking for. And this venue is first class.
Fortunately, I don’t think my absence was really noticed.
Some quick info:
Exhibit C’s art gallery will display and sell works of Chickasaw artists, highlighting a different featured artist every four months. Over time, works of other southeastern artists will be added to the Exhibit C collection.
The retail section offers artisan works such as jewelry, pottery, paintings and clothing. Other retail items include the full line of Bedré Fine Chocolate, books from Chickasaw Press and Chickasaw Country-branded items. Exhibit C also functions as a tourism information center for Bricktown visitors interested in exploring Chickasaw Country destinations.
Congratulations, Chickasaws … you’re quite the welcome addition to the state’s premier entertainment district.
