Today's forecast calls for wind and rain

From the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office:

“Along with a significant increase in south winds today, scattered to numerous rain showers are expected.

Western Oklahoma and western north Texas will see the best chances of rain from early this morning through about 1 pm.

Central and eastern Oklahoma will stand the best chances from about 10 am to 7 pm.

“A dryline will bring very warm, windy and dry conditions to western Oklahoma as well as

western north Texas. This will generate very high to extreme fire danger late Thursday morning through

the afternoon. Southwest wind will shift to northerly behind a cold front late in the day.

“Windy conditions along with at least a slight chance of showers and storms will continue Thursday,

with the rain chances confined to areas east of Interstate-35.

If storms develop Thursday afternoon, a few of them may reach severe levels with marginally severe wind and hail the main concerns.”
