Warm today and tomorrow, but snow possible Tuesday night for some areas

From the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office:

Conditions will be warm today, with elevated wildfire potential this afternoon.

Temperatures will reach the 70s, with minimum humidities less than 30%.

Winds will also be from the south and southwest at 10 to 15 mph, with higher gusts.

Very high to extreme fire weather conditions will exist across parts of western OK and western north Texas Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a cold front will begin to move across the region Tuesday afternoon, with strong northerly winds behind the front.

Wind speeds will range from 25 to 35 mph, with gusts around 50 mph possible behind the front.

The cold front will continue to move across the region Tuesday night, with windy conditions continuing behind the front.

There is a slight chance of rain–possibly mixing with snow–late across parts of northern Oklahoma.

Cooler temperatures are expected Wednesday, with afternoon highs in the 50s.

Winds will not be as strong as Tuesday, but remain from the north at 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts.

According to the Oklahoma Climatological Survey:

As we look back, the last 120 days are the third driest for that time period on record since 1921 for central Oklahoma.

If you take a look at the statewide average, this is the sixth driest span for that particular period.
