Logan and Payne counties have been added to winter storm warning
The National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office has upgraded the winter
weather advisory to a winter storm warning for heavy snow…which
is in effect from 1 am to 6 pm cst Tuesday for Logan and Payne counties.
* Timing: Snow is expected to start over far western Oklahoma
around midnight…then spread into northern and central
Oklahoma around sunrise tuesday. the heaviest snow is expected
to fall between 4 am and 6 pm.
* Main impact: snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are expected by
late Tuesday afternoon.
* Other impacts: roads will become slick and hazardous. Avoid
travel if at all possible.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
Avoid travel. Be sure you can take care of yourself and your
family if you lose electrical power. Monitor weather forecasts
and information.
