Signing Day 2014 is covered for all types of football fans

There are a lot of college football fans here in Oklahoma — as in pretty much everybody with an address in the state lines.

A lot of those are the game-day fans. They know what’s going on, but they don’t know every detail.

But then there’s another class of college football fans — the ones who know the players on the practice squad. These are likely the same fans who know which high school junior is considering going to their favorite school.

Those are the year-round fans. They follow college football every day, all year. And they usually love recruiting.

The Oklahoman‘s sports department covers recruiting well, offering articles and blog posts for news of a star high school player making a commitment to OU or OSU. The college football fans who follow recruiting closely love those posts on NewsOK. They get shared quickly across social media channels.

The pinnacle of the recruiting coverage comes next Wednesday — Signing Day 2014.

It’s the day when the interests of the casual game day fan and the committed recruiting season fan intersect.
