Will Northwestern beat Ohio State and help OU?

Ohio State goes to Northwestern on Saturday, which might not seem like a game worth paying much attention to, but if you’re an Oklahoma fan, you’d best be pulling for the Wildcats.

Ohio State looks to have a primrose path to the national championship game. With the exception of a regular-season finale against Michigan, the rest of Ohio State’s schedule is a total cakewalk. Or maybe it’s more of a cupcake walk.

Iowa. Penn State. Purdue. Illinois. Indiana.

It looks like the Buckeyes are going to finish the season undefeated, and if they do, they’d likely win a tiebreaker against the Sooners to get into the national championship game. Of course, that would mean the Sooners would have to finish undefeated, and there’s still a lot of ball left, but hey, if you’re one who worries about these type of things in early October, Northwestern could be your best friend.

So, do the Wildcats pull the upset?

Berry Tramel and I pick that game as well as a few others in our “We Pick ‘Em” segment of Press Row.

Oh, and a public service announcement: You can skip through the first 90 seconds or so as we talk about Texas at Iowa State, since that game has already come and gone. BT and I both picked Texas in a close game.

Nailed it.
