Early access stories available immediately for The Oklahoman's subscribers
We received this feedback from a reader in South Carolina this week:
I was raised in Oklahoma and now live in South Carolina. I’ve followed this story with great interest, but YOU have made that possible and I wish to thank you. The Post and Courier (Charleston’s newspaper) has restricted access to their online edition, so I am unable to follow the coverage here.
I can’t speak for The Post and Courier. It looks like they are limiting access to some of their stories. Lots of newspapers and news websites have launched a variety of premium content strategies. That’s one way of doing it.
And so has The Oklahoman. The fact is, NewsOK limits access to some of The Oklahoman’s stories as well, allowing subscribers to The Oklahoman early access to certain stories every day.
If you are a subscriber, you just click through and read the story on our premium website, Oklahoman.com.
If you are not a subscriber, you can still read the story on NewsOK, but you might have to wait until later in the day or the next day.
But the premise from the reader in South Carolina is correct. All articles are available on NewsOK. It’s just a matter of when they are available.
You can find the ‘early access’ articles on the NewsOK home page. They are displayed in the middle column.
Those will be featured in full on NewsOK eventually, but The Oklahoman subscribers can read those now.
