Bike ride for diabetes research

The third annual Tour de Cure cycling event is Saturday (June 26) in Mustang.
Oklahoma cyclists will be riding to raise money for the American Diabetes Association.
Last year, 300 cyclists participated in the Oklahoma City Tour de Cure raising more than $100,000 to help find a cure for diabetes for the nearly 400,000 Oklahomans who live with the disease.
The event is a one-day ride that starts at Wild Horse Park in Mustang and offers a scenic route through western Oklahoma.
The Tour de Cure is designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist with routes ranging from 18 miles to 100 kilometers.
The tour will take riders across much of the city. While the four routes differ in length, they all have similar parameters.
The two most advanced cycling routes will include much of Tuttle as well.
New to this year’s Tour de Cure is the family-friendly Kids Zone. This portion of the tour consists of a children’s bicycle ride and a multitude of water games.
The Sugar Free Allstars will also be performing a free outdoor concert at 1 p.m.
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. at Wild Horse Park with the bike rides starting at 7:30 a.m.
Distances for the bike rides are 18 miles, 30 miles, 48 miles or 100 kilometers.
