Taxi Cab Confessions in OKC
When reporter Tiffany Gibson made the video request for this story, I knew I wanted to shoot it. The people down at Yellow Cab Taxi were great. All of them were great people for interviews because they all had great stories. You can tell when people have traveled, they often have great stories due to their life experiences. I think taxi drivers are in that group: they have great stories because of their experiences with the various people they have encountered.
Here is Tiffany’s story.

The above edit was posted to NewsOK. I shoot with a very flat and neutral setting on the Canon 7D. In Final Cut Pro, the above video received additional saturation using 3-way color correction. I also adjusted the effects using Image Control and Levels in FCP to adjust the brightness and backgrounds.
The two edits below were also edited in FCP. I wanted to play around with two looks: the Pleasantville look and a film look.
For the Pleasantville look I took out all colors except yellow in 3-way color correction (click on limit effect, capture the desired color, turn off saturation and luma and turn the saturation level all the way down). If I was editing it again (takes over 8 minutes to export this 6 minute video) I wouldn’t have removed the color from the animations.
The third edit used a film look. I doubled up the video, removed the saturation from the top video, then clicked on composite mode and selected overlay. I bumped up the blacks in 3-way color correction since I was using the first edit to test and that edit featured some darker levels. This look is my favorite of the three.
