Former Oklahoma City art museum curators death unexpected by most | NewsOK.com
I never met Hardy George.
But I spent a lot of time at the northside YMCA, working out many evenings after work in the 2000s. So did Hardy George. If my memory is right, Hardy would have a book with him as he walked on the treadmill.
At the time I didn’t know he was chief curator emeritus of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
But I would encounter Hardy at various events I covered for NewsOK.com. I learned he was a respected art expert.
It’s sad I never walked up and said “hello, our paths have crossed a few times, what’s your story?” People who travel a lot have the best stories.
So that’s my loss.
And Hardy’s passing is the art world’s and this community’s loss.
