May 20 ongoing coverage page keeps all the coverage in one place
Shortly after the tornado touched down in Newcastle last week, it became pretty clear that another May date would become instantly historic.
On NewsOK, we have ongoing coverage pages for a lot of the May dates of great significance. May 3. May 10. May 24.
And now, May 20, 2013.

The NewsOK ongoing coverage page contains all the stories, videos, photos, graphics, life profiles and ways to help. It basically has everything we have to offer as we covered the tornado. All the articles are there, but the first seven days are displayed by date of publication, allowing users to see our original coverage in the immediate aftermath.
Some of the most amazing videos and stories are featured on the main page. But it’s pretty hard to pick the best of the best, because there were so many stories to tell and so many terrific reports from The Oklahoman’s newsroom.
In my opinion, nothing brings the story to life more than Paul Hellstern’s raw video at Briarwood Elementary as the students, teachers, parents and first responders exited, arrived and re-united at the scene.
I used to live in the neighborhood across the street from Briarwood. Had we not moved, two of my children surely would have been there. Everybody has a story like that — and that’s why this story is so close to everyone’s hearts.
Our ongoing coverage page will continue to expand. We’ll be adding links to the Life Profiles that The Oklahoman’s reporters are collecting.
We will be adding more interactive features and special areas of coverage as we continue to rebuild and remember.
The breaking news has slowed down. But we’ll be covering this story for years.
