Hot Chocolate to All, and to All a Good Night
When it comes to chocolate things, Gene Leiterman has an advantage over everyone else: expertise.Mix that with a whole lot of passion, and you’ve got the finest chocolate creations in the city. Gene makes the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had, but he also makes a mean drinking chocolate. These are more like the hot chocolate beverages good ol’ Montezuma guzzled in his hallowed halls. Gene is selling his own personal mix this week for the holidays, visit him down in Bricktown.
Meanwhile, pretty much every coffee and cupcake purveyor produces solid hot chocolate. I’m told Kathryn Mathis stirs up a mean Mexican hot chocolate. I have no doubt of that, and hope to get over there real soon to find out for myself.
One more thing, if you saw our photo in the Dec. 22 Oklahoman or on newsok.com, it’s fairly obvious we had some fun with our hot chocolate shoot. Chris Landsberger is a genius photographer, and a bit of a fire bug. That combination is dangerous on a couple levels, but it benefits the aesthetic of what we’re trying to do with our food coverage so we gladly accept it.
