Chat: 'The Walking Dead' returns

TV blogger Melissa Hayer and web editor Richard Hall hosted an after-show chat Sunday to talk about the return of "The Walking Dead."

Check out a transcript of the chat below. And tell us what you thought of Sunday's episode in the comments section.

Melissa Hayer 9:01 p.m. Welcome to "The Walking Dead" Season Three return after-show chat!

I felt like this was another strong episode for the series, with several options for the story lines to go - thoughts?
Richard 9:02 p.m. Welcome to the chat, everyone.
Richard 9:02 p.m. I thought the episode was so-so. After the exciting first half of season 3, I expected a bit more from this midseason premiere. But you're right, lots of storylines to work with.
Melissa Hayer 9:03 p.m. I was a bit surprised Daryl left with Merle, but I liked seeing more Tyrese.
Richard 9:04 p.m. I certainly hope Daryl doesn't get killed off. He's too strong of a character.
Richard 9:04 p.m. But I can see them killing Glenn by the end of the season.
Melissa Hayer 9:04 p.m. I agree about Daryl - I could see Merle getting killed and Daryl coming back.
Melissa Hayer 9:05 p.m. I'd hate to see Glenn go, but he and Maggie have major issues to work out.
Richard 9:06 p.m. I think Andrea becoming the Governor's public relations coordinator was a bit much. But I think it's the next step in the evolution of her character. Seasons 1 and 2 she was just... there.
Melissa Hayer 9:08 p.m. Although I'm looking forward to Rick and the Governor having a showdown, I'd almost like to see Laurie take him out.
Richard 9:08 p.m. It might work out that way.
Melissa Hayer 9:08 p.m. Yeah, Rick's not faring too well mentally.
Richard 9:09 p.m. Nope. Looked like Lori was wearing some kind of gown, but also looked like she had a bad case of zombie face going on. Maybe not, though. She was in the shadows.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:11 p.m. Did Carol foreshadow what was going to happen between Merle and Daryl when she said, "I like to think I'm a different person." Watch that whole conversation; I think she tells us what will happen.
Richard 9:13 p.m. Interesting, Bryan. I admit I didn't pay too close attention to that conversation. I was tuning the show out a bit toward the end because it wasn't holding my attention.
Melissa Hayer 9:13 p.m. She could have been - good point, Bryan.
Melissa Hayer 9:15 p.m. Although there wasn't a ton of action in this episode, i think there was a lot of setting up for things to come.
Richard 9:16 p.m. True that.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:16 p.m. HUGE set-up. They are easing us into it.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:18 p.m. Is anyone going to watch the black-and-white premier on Thursday?
Richard 9:18 p.m. What do you guys think about Tyrese's group? Certainly Tyrese is a good guy, but the other two males in his posse are going to be a problem.
Melissa Hayer 9:19 p.m. I don't think I'll check out the black and white version - although I think it's cool they're airing it that way.
Richard 9:19 p.m. @Bryan: The wife and I don't do cable/dish/whatever, so no to that. Though we have both seasons on Blu-ray and I've watched them in black-and-white just by messing with the TV's picture settings. Heh.
Melissa Hayer 9:20 p.m. I really like Tyrese already, of course, but those other two guys are going to have to go.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:21 p.m. Tyrese is going to be a stud.
Melissa Hayer 9:22 p.m. Any thoughts on what might happen with Michonne?
Richard 9:22 p.m. I think Michonne will stick with the group. They need warriors.
Melissa Hayer 9:23 p.m. I agree. I think the others will change their minds about letting her stay.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:23 p.m. Mic hone is still a complete lose cannon. Like Wolverine, I say she sticks around but goes rogue very now and then.
Richard 9:24 p.m. I'm perplexed by Andrea. The more I think about her character, especially in context of this season, she annoys and upsets me.
Richard 9:25 p.m. How does she turn her back on the group she spent two seasons with? Does she feel THAT betrayed? If so, they haven't explored it enough for me to believe she's totally OK with siding with the Governor and Woodbury after knowing what happened to Michonne and such.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:26 p.m. So who dies next?
Richard 9:27 p.m. Hmmm not sure exactly next, but I think, before it's all over for season three, we see Carol, Gov and Glenn die.
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:28 p.m. Agree with Glenn and Gov.
Melissa Hayer 9:31 p.m. I think they might take it easy on the major characters dying for a while. And, on the Andrea subject - sorry, earlier I meant to say I kind of wanted "Andrea" to take out the Governor, but I used the actress' name instead "Laurie," but I agree with you, Richard. I don't think Andrew should be siding with the Governor and Woodbury.
Melissa Hayer 9:33 p.m. Since I'm having so much trouble typing Andrea's name, perhaps it's time to go tonight - any more thoughts anyone?
Richard 9:33 p.m. Nope, none from me. Thanks for the chat, all!
Melissa Hayer 9:34 p.m. Thank you everyone!
Bryan in Fort Worth 9:34 p.m. Thanks!
