Oklahomans reflect on life, career of Phyllis Diller
The world said goodbye to one of the most influential female comedians of this era when news broke that Phyllis Diller had died at her home Monday.
Diller was best known for making jokes about her appearance and age, as well as a man named Fang. With a unique cackle and smile, Diller stepped onto the stage, ready and willing to deliver her jokes with personality and spunk.
She was sporting that same smile when “she died peacefully in her sleep…,” according to The Associated Press.
Below are tweets from Oklahomans about Diller’s passing and what her career meant to them.
