Man on lift burned by power lines in Oklahoma City

A man suffered burns to his hands and face Thursday while working on a lift in north Oklahoma City, a fire official said.

Fire Maj. Tammy McKinney said the man was working about 10:45 a.m. on a lift at 1220 N Walker Ave. when power lines were blown into the lift, burning him.

She said the man was able to lower himself from the lift and was alert and conscious when firefighters arrived. Lara O'Leary, spokeswoman for the Emergency Medical Services Authority, said the man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
