Man with infant in car is arrested on DUI complaint
Police have arrested a man on a complaint of driving under the influence of alcohol after another driver reported seeing him sipping a beer while swerving on the road with an infant in the car, police said.
An Oklahoma City police officer stopped the car about 11 a.m. Friday at the Western Heights Public Schools campus in the 8100 block of SW 44, according to a police report. The driver, identified as Ramiro Patino, 25, told the officer he did not have a license.
Police said the officer spotted a six-pack of beer on the passenger's floor board and noticed that two of the bottles were empty. According to the police report, Patino then asked the officer to “cut him a break.”
The officer took Patino into custody and found a baby girl in a car seat in the back of the vehicle. Patino called his sister to come pick up his child, police said.
Attempts to reach Patino by phone Monday were unsuccessful.
