Mother of slain Midwest City woman thanks police

MIDWEST CITY — The mother of a Midwest City woman killed in an alleged murder-for-hire plot Jan. 11 released a statement Wednesday, thanking police for their efforts in the case.
Judy Richardson is the mother of Jessica Lynn Brown, a 23-year-old mother found shot to death in her home. The medical examiner said Brown was six months pregnant with a baby girl.
Police have arrested her estranged husband, Fabion Brown, 24; his girlfriend, Emily Matheson, 23; and Brodric Glover, 19, in connection with the shooting.
In her statement, Richardson thanked the Midwest City Police Department for working nonstop on the case. “While their efforts cannot bring Jessica and baby Rayleigh back to us, we are happy to see the people who are responsible for taking this extraordinary young mother, daughter and sister from us behind bars,” she wrote
She said her daughter was planning to return to Washington state to be near family and friends. Police said Matheson told investigators Fabion Brown was upset his wife was planning to take the children to Washington and was afraid of going to jail for failure to pay child support.
Richardson said she is in the process of planning her daughter and granddaughter's funeral, and is working to get custody of Jessica Brown's two other young children.
Glover told police he shot Brown while she was next to her two children. They were later found outside unattended and told police their mom was asleep.
Officers entered the home and found Brown lying in the bedroom. She had been shot twice in the head, according to an autopsy report.
A memorial fund has been set up at Bank of America, and donations can be made to at any branch.
While their efforts cannot bring Jessica and baby Rayleigh back to us, we are happy to see the people who are responsible for taking this extraordinary young mother, daughter and sister from us behind bars.”
