Police arrest two men accused of robbing 8-year-old boy
Two men remained in jail Monday, accused of stealing an electronic tablet from an 8-year-old boy and assaulting him in northwest Oklahoma City last week.
Anthony Ray Davis Jr., 18, and Deveonte Johnson, 19, were arrested Jan. 31 after witnesses said they pushed down an 8-year-old boy outside of a store, stole a tablet from him and ran from the scene.
An employee at the Dollar Jewelry Store told police she watched Davis enter the store behind the boy and his mother. When the mother and son started to leave, Davis followed and held the door open for them, the employee told police.
Davis then came up behind the boy and pushed him to the ground as he grabbed the electronic tablet, according to the police report.
Officers were called to the area of NW 23 and Pennsylvania Avenue and found two men walking northbound on Pennsylvania. Police said Johnson ran behind a restaurant, but was taken into custody.
Johnson was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of receiving and concealing stolen property and conspiracy to commit robbery. He is being held on $22,000 bail.
Davis was booked in on complaints of robbery, aggravated assault and battery and assault and battery. He is being held on $24,000 bail.
